What this PDF cleaner removes
This tool removes the PDF Info dictionary, including author, creator, producer, title, subject, keywords, creation date, modification date and custom Info entries. It also removes supported XMP Metadata streams and their references, including catalog and page metadata. It rewrites the document rather than appending a metadata update.
Choose a PDF above and inspect the report. A successful output is a separate copy. The tool preserves page content streams without rasterizing the pages.
Removes common document metadata only. Embedded images, attachments, hidden text, annotations, form values and revisions may remain. PDF C2PA attachments are not removed. This is not a redaction tool.
Why signed PDFs are refused
Editing a signed document can invalidate its signature. If a PDF contains a signature dictionary, a ByteRange entry, a signature field or nonzero AcroForm signature flags, this tool refuses it and creates no output. That also means an unsigned document with an empty signature field can be refused conservatively.
Encrypted or damaged documents
Encrypted PDFs are refused, including documents that open without asking for a password. There is no password entry or decryption feature. Incomplete documents and unsupported structures are also refused when detected; the tool does not offer a repair mode.
Review before sharing
Open the cleaned copy in your regular PDF viewer and check its pages. If you need to remove sensitive text, tracked content, attachments or embedded-image EXIF, use a suitable local PDF editor and verify its output. Clearing document properties alone does not make a PDF anonymous.
