CLEAN METADATA / THE DETAILS
Your files stay
with you.
Files and their metadata are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded to Clean Metadata.
Last updated: November 2, 2026.
When you select a file
The page reads the file into browser memory and passes its bytes to a local worker. The cleaner creates a separate output and a report. Filenames and metadata appear only in the local workspace. They are not sent to an upload endpoint or included in analytics.
This version does not save your selected files, reports or settings in cookies, local storage or a remote database. Clear the workspace or close the page to release the tool’s references. Your browser, operating system and downloaded copies have their own storage behavior.
When you visit the site
Your browser requests the site’s HTML, styles, scripts and images from the hosting provider. Those requests necessarily expose ordinary connection information such as your IP address, requested URL and user agent to that provider. File contents and the filenames you select are not part of those requests.
The site is prepared for static hosting on Cloudflare Pages. Hosting infrastructure may keep access or security logs under the host’s own settings and policies. Local file processing does not mean that loading a website creates no network traffic.
No tracking or third-party scripts
This version has no analytics, external fonts, advertising scripts, tracking pixels or third-party embeds. Empty advertising placeholders are reserved in the HTML; they make no ad requests. If a future version adds an external service, this explanation must be updated to reflect it.
Downloads and contact
Downloads are created locally. The tool does not control where your browser saves them or what an app does when you open or share them. If you contact an operator by email, the email service processes what you send. Do not send sensitive files or metadata.
The contact page currently lists a clearly marked placeholder address for this release.
